CARES Member Club Requirements

In order to maintain CARES Membership, we ask that CARES Member Clubs please follow these few simple steps.

To become a CARES Member Club

1. You must designate a CARES Club Liaison.
a. This person will be an ambassador in bringing awareness to club members of conservation priority fish, their current urgent situation in their natural habitats and our critical role as hobbyists in preserving their future.
b. This person will show club members the CARES Priority List and assist them as needed with registering their fish at www.caresspecies.org.
c. This person will respond to CARES emails and be a conduit of information between CARES and your club board and club members.
d. This person will assist CARES with quarterly confirmation of species maintained from club members.
e. This person will provide their contact information to the CARES Member Club Coordinator and keep that contact information up-to-date.

2. You are responsible for providing your club logo to the CARES Member Club Coordinator for inclusion on the CARES website.

To retain membership as a CARES Member Club

1. You must keep your CARES Club Liaison contact information current.
2. Your club must have a minimum of one species registered with CARES and confirmed as current within the past six months.
3. You must continue to bring awareness to the urgency of protecting conservation priority fish and how we, as hobbyists, are making a collective difference.
